RESEARCH METHODS FOR GLOBAL HEALTH SEMINAR (21 -25 November, 2022)
During the Research Methods for Global Health seminar, lectures were held to build the capacity of the Department's faculty on pedagogical and methodological approaches: Descriptive epidemiology (prevalence, incidence, mortality, mortality), Statistics R 1: Loading, introduction, basics, Statistics 1: Variable type, descriptive measures, Statistics 2: Normal distribution, Statistics 3: Confidence interval, Statistics 4: t-test, hypothesis testing, Descriptive epidemiology: standardization of morbidity rates, etc.
Each lecture was followed by a group discussion of the specifics of the curriculum and teaching methods. The participants discussed ways to improve the delivery of lectures and practical classes on the proposed topics of this course. At the end of the Research Methods for Global Health seminar, a set of recommendations for improving the curriculum and teaching methods was developed. Plans and objectives for the next meeting of all project participants, scheduled for March 2023, were formulated and preliminarily discussed.
A number of lectures have been proposed for the next meeting to form and strengthen relationships between higher education institutions and non-academic organizations in the partner countries. In particular, a Correlation and Regression Analysis lecture, lecturer - Liudmyla Trushchenkova, Associate Professor of the Department of Public Health and Healthcare Management, I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University, Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
